AZRAK - I

Azrak is a Persian term meaning “Pure” - the sole idea behind the furniture design. Azrak bring together the historic Kutchi (traditionally well know place in Gujarat, India for its prints) block prints and the Burmese teak wood witnessing the usage of contemporary materials into one soul design. The products have been named under Azrak.

The furniture is a 7 - seated sofa and Indian seating made for a client whose requirement was to use the Burmese teak (saag) wood into the design. The house interiors were also mostly in teak wood, so to contemplate the other furniture, Burmese teak has been used. The product has been given the clear finish to showcase and enhance the wood in its “Pure” form. The pattern on the side arm of the furniture is taken from the kutcha block print which is traditionally used in the textiles.

The sofa structure is a combination of simple wooden side planks and short legs. The structure has a defined line pattern balancing it throughout.
